Express Care
McFarland Express Care offers same-day and next-day appointments for common illnesses, limited immunizations, and brief physicals for sports or work (availability of physicals varies by location–please call for more information).
You do not need to be an existing patient of McFarland Clinic to be seen at McFarland Express Care. Patients must be 6 months of age or older. (X-Ray services are not available in Express Care. Please see Urgent Care for X-Ray services.)

Insurance
If you have insurance, we will submit claims to your medical insurance company on your behalf. We encourage you to contact your insurance company to verify coverage for the services you are seeking. This will help prepare you for any out-of-pocket costs such as copayments, coinsurance, and/or deductibles. Copayments will be collected at the time of your visit.
If you are uninsured or prefer to pay in full at the time of your visit, we accept cash, checks, debit cards, and major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express).

Brief Physicals for Sports and Work - $50 †
McFarland Express Care locations offer certain types of physicals (varies by location–please call for more information):
- Ames locations offer sports physicals for middle school and high school sports.
- Marshalltown location offers brief physicals for sports and work.
A brief physical is a statement of health and includes a review of your medical history, limited physical exam, and administration of immunizations if indicated. Diagnostic testing is not provided with a brief sports or work physical.
The brief physicals offered at McFarland Express Care are not intended to replace an annual comprehensive wellness exam.
Please review the necessary requirements for your physical.
When coming for a visit, please bring any required forms.
