Shannon Buck, DO, provides Dermatology and Mohs Surgery care at McFarland Clinic in Ames. His practice includes Mohs surgery for basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, and other skin cancers, as well as general dermatology care for acne, psoriasis, eczema, rashes, and other skin conditions.
Dr. Buck understands that visible skin concerns and a skin cancer diagnosis can cause stress, anxiety, and embarrassment. He takes time to explain treatment options, help patients understand what to expect, and guide them and their families through wound repair and healing when surgery is needed. His goal is to put patients at ease, address their concerns, and provide the thoughtful care he would want for his own family.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, being outside, traveling, playing golf, exercising and cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the San Antonio Spurs.
Community Involvement
Served 16 years in the Air Force as a Flight Surgeon and Dermatologist. Deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Currently serving in the Air National Guard as a Flight Surgeon for the 185th ARW in Sioux City, Iowa.
