Hand Surgery
Hand surgery encompasses reconstructive surgery. Reconstructive surgery is performed to correct functional impairments or abnormal structures of the body.
Reconstructive surgery can be performed for congenital defects, skin cancer, and hand reconstruction. It is generally performed to improve functions, but may also be done to approximate a normal appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will I have to be off work after my surgery?
Many factors go into determining what recovery time will be after surgery. Typically, patients need to be off work 2-4 weeks for carpal tunnel surgery and 6-8 weeks after fracture repair. Dr. Bean, Dr. Friedrich, or Dr. Poag will be able to give you an estimate after visiting with you at your consultation.
