“This service is for anyone who wants to quit tobacco products,” says Kaitlyn. “We just ask that you’d be willing to try quitting your tobacco product as well as willing to follow up.”

Benefits of Quitting Tobacco Products

The benefits of quitting tobacco include decreasing your risk for cancer and chronic health conditions like cardiovascular disease and breathing problems like COPD. People who quit tobacco can also see a decreased financial burden.

What Happens in a Tobacco Cessation Appointment?

Kaitlyn says a typical appointment includes talking about tobacco habits and identifying triggers that may cause you to want to use tobacco.

“We talk about ways that we can work together in being successful in your tobacco cessation journey,” she says.

Tobacco cessation products may include:

  • Nicotine replacement gum
  • Nicotine replacement patches
  • Nicotine replacement lozenges

  • Nasal sprays

In some cases, medication may be prescribed to help with your tobacco cessation efforts.
