Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it recommended to have an appointment at Urgent Care?

We value your time! By scheduling an appointment you:

  • have a better expectation of when you will be seen, rather than waiting or wondering
  • are evaluated and on your way quickly, very often within 15 or 20 minutes
  • have less exposure to other peoples’ illnesses in the waiting room
How does this work with my insurance?

Urgent Care is billed like a regular office visit to your normal family doctor. If you have a co-payment with your insurance that is all you will have to pay at your appointment. Urgent Care does accept cash, check and all major credit cards.

Why does it look like no one is here?

With Urgent Care, we have appointments scheduled at specific times so you will not be waiting for long periods of time, we strive to get you the care you need quickly.

I'm new, what do I need to bring to my appointment?

You will need to bring your insurance card, a photo ID and a list of medications you are currently taking. When you call to schedule an appointment you will be asked to arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment so you can fill out the necessary paperwork.

I had my appointment...now what?

After your appointment you are free to go. There is no need to check-out as we do not regularly have follow-up appointments. If a follow-up appointment is required, you will be asked to make an appointment the next business day with your primary care provider.

I didn't get a prescription, but I was told that I was going to be put on medicine, what do I do?

McFarland Clinic now uses e-Scripts, and the majority of prescriptions can be sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. Most of the pharmacies will have received your “e-prescription” before you leave our office.
