About Dr. Obaid
Dr. Oday Obaid provides aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and serves the Central Iowa area including Ames and Des Moines. His focus is on restoring form, supporting function, and achieving balanced, natural-looking results. His approach combines complex reconstructive training with aesthetic judgment and individualized planning for patients considering surgical or non-surgical options.
Dr. Obaid sees each consultation as an opportunity to listen, understand a patient’s goals, and discuss what may be realistic and appropriate for their needs. His care includes aesthetic plastic surgery for the face, breast, and body, as well as reconstructive plastic surgery related to cancer, trauma, wounds, prior surgery, and other complex concerns. As part of the William R. Bliss Cancer Center care team, Dr. Obaid works alongside physicians and specialists from multiple disciplines to support patients who may benefit from reconstructive surgery as part of their cancer care.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Obaid has an academic interest in surgical innovation, including how emerging technology is shaping the future of plastic surgery. He brings this forward-thinking perspective to his practice while keeping each patient’s individual goals, safety, and long-term outcomes at the center of care.
