Snehitha Vijaykumar, MD Joins McFarland Clinic Cardiology

McFarland Clinic is pleased to announce that Snehitha Vijaykumar, MD has joined our Cardiology Department in Ames as an Interventional Cardiologist.

Dr. Vijaykumar received her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences in India. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Vijaykumar went on to complete her Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. 

As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Vijaykumar will diagnose and treat acute and chronic disease and conditions that affect the heart and blood vessels, including coronary artery disease, angina, arrhythmias, and heart attack. She will perform procedures including cardiac catheterization and coronary angioplasty. In addition, Dr. Vijaykumar will also perform peripheral vascular intervention and structural heart disease interventions.
