Video Visits

McFarland Clinic provides Video Visits as an option for a clinical visit with your provider. Video Visits are telehealth appointments done through MyChart, your personalized and secure web portal to your medical record.

You can have a face-to-face conversation with your provider using the camera and microphone on your smartphone, tablet or computer. 

To schedule a Video Visit, please contact your provider’s office.

Starting a MyChart Video Visit is as easy as 1-2-3.

1. Log into MyChart.

2. Complete the questionnaires.

3. Tap "Begin Video Visit."

All you need is a MyChart account, a phone or computer with a webcam, and the Zoom app.

Download The MyChart App

  1. Go to the app store on your phone.
  2. Search for the MyChart App.
  3. Download the app.

Video Visit Access In MyChart

  1. Sign in with your MyChart username and password.
    • If you forgot this information click or tap "Forgot Username?" or "Forgot Password?"
    • If you do not have a MyChart account, sign up here.
  2. Once you are in the app, click or tap your appointment.
    • You will see a page that says Video Visit with a picture of a video camera next to it.

Check In

  1. Tap eCheck-In.
  2. Respond to the questionnaire (medications, health history, pharmacy, etc.) and mark the box "This Information is correct."
    • Consent to the visit by clicking "YES" when asked.

  1. Once you are checked in, you will return to the Video Visit appointment page.

Starting Your Video Visit

  1. On your appointment page, the video camera icon will turn green when the visit is ready to start.
  2. Click on the green camera icon to start the visit.
  3. Click Begin Visit.

Launching Video Visit With Zoom

  1. The Zoom app will open or prompt you to download the Zoom app.
  2. Wait for your provider to join the visit.

Fixing Technical Issues

  1. Make sure pop-up blockers are turned off to allow Zoom to launch.

Computer

Make sure your computer has a webcam and microphone.

Sign Into MyChart

  1. Go to the MyChart Website.
  2. Sign in with your MyChart username and password.
    • If you forgot these, click “Forgot Username?” or “Forgot Password?”
    • If you have never used MyChart before, sign up here.
  3. Once you are logged in, go to the Visits icon at the top of the page.

  1. When you hover over the icon, it should drop down a list.
  2. Click “Appointments & Visits.”

Check Into Your Visit

  1. Click on your appointment and then click eCheck-In.
  2. Respond to the questionnaire (medications, family history, pharmacy, etc.) and mark the box “This Information Is Correct.”
  3. Go through the pages and consent to the visit.

  1. Once you are checked in, you will see a screen that has a button to begin your video visit.

  1. Click this button when you are ready.

Start Your Visit

  1. After clicking the button, you will begin connecting to download the Zoom app if it isn’t already downloaded.
  2. If Zoom is already downloaded, it will ask if you want to Open Zoom. Click Open Zoom.

  1. A window reading “Please wait for the host to start this meeting.”
    • You should keep this open until your provider is ready to speak with you.
    • You may test your computer audio and microphone at this time.

  1. When the provider is ready, you should be able to see their video in Zoom.
