Tests available to help in the diagnosis of neurological disease include:
- EEG (electroencephalography) brain wave analysis
- Transcranial doppler done with ultrasound to evaluate circulation in the brain
- Sleep study (polysomnogram) overnight test done at the sleep lab in the hospital to diagnose sleep disorders
- Botox (botulinum toxin) therapeutic intervention used to treat excessive muscle contraction/over activity. That can result from several neurologic conditions including cerebral palsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, head trauma, dystonia, Parkinson’s Disease, and migraine or muscle contraction
- Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
- EMG/NCV (electromyography/nerve conduction velocities) The EMG/Neuromuscular program provides clinical and electro-diagnostic evaluation by our Neurologist. We diagnose and treat a wide range of neuromuscular disorders including peripheral neuropathy, ALS, muscle disease, spinal root disease and Myasthenia Gravis
- Lumbar puncture- procedure to collect cerebral spinal fluid for diagnostic testing
- Intrathecal baclofen pump management and trouble shooting for spasticity in adults and children populations
- Vagal nerve stimulator management for epilepsy
- Tilt table testing for syncope (fainting)
