McFarland Clinic, P.C. is currently seeking a Neurologist to provide neurology physician services to patients in clinical and hospital settings in Ames, Iowa. Duties include diagnosing and treating disorders for the nervous system and muscles to include: the brain and spinal cord, cranial nerves connected to the eyes, face, ears, nose and throat, peripheral nerves which supply the arms and legs, muscles of the body, autonomic nerves which innervate the internal organs including the blood vessels and sweat glands. Common ailments that Neurologists treat include epilepsy, tumors and degenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, headaches, strokes, muscular dystrophies and peripheral neuropathies. Consults with other physicians to rule out a neurological cause of patients with unexplained pain.
Candidate must possess a medical degree from an accredited medical school in the U.S. or Canada, or other foreign medical degree from an international medical school listed by the World Health Organization. Candidate must possess or be eligible for an Iowa Medical License. Candidate must complete a program of graduate medical training in neurology in either a U.S. program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; or in a Canadian program accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
