Varicose veins affect the quality of life for millions of Americans, and they go mostly unrecognized, and, as a result, untreated. Symptoms of Varicose Veins

  • leg fatigue and pain
  • itching in your legs
  • swelling of the legs
  • restlessness in your legs
  • burning sensation in your legs

Complications of Varicose Veins

  •  permanent hyperpigmentation in the skin of ankles
  • life-threatening blood clots in legs
  • ulcers in legs
  • frequent skin infections in legs

Improving Your Vein Health

To prevent varicose veins and other vein health issues or to keep them from getting worse without additional treatment, avoid the following:

  •  smoking
  • high heels
  • standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • weight gain

Dr. Salti also recommends exercise and periodically elevating your legs to improve vein health.
