McFarland Clinic will begin seeing patients at its new South Ames Office in the Iowa State University Research Park starting Monday, July 23, 2018.
The clinic is located at 3500 University Boulevard, south of Highway 30 at the corner of University Boulevard and Collaboration Place.
“Our organization continues to make strategic efforts to better meet the convenience and access needs of the patients we serve,” said Andrew Perry, McFarland Clinic Chief Executive Officer. “The new South Ames Clinic allows us to deliver services to this growing part of the community including businesses and residences. This location will provide close proximity to patients from the Iowa State community.”
The McFarland Clinic South Ames Office will feature four clinical departments: Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, Optometry, and Physical Therapy. All providers in the departments in this location are welcoming new patients.
Family Medicine and Sports Medicine

Dr. Marc Shulman
The family medicine physicians providing services at this location include Dr. Sarah Renze and Dr. Sarah Van Hauen. Both are current McFarland Clinic family medicine physicians in Ames and will relocate to the South Ames Office. Online scheduling is available for both Dr. Renze and Dr. Van Hauen.
Dr. Sarah Bancroft and Dr. Marc Shulman with McFarland Sports Medicine will also relocate their practices into this new facility. Dr. Bancroft and Dr. Shulman serve as the official team physicians of Iowa State University Athletics. Online scheduling is also available for both Dr. Bancroft and Dr. Shulman.
The new two-story facility has the capacity to add physicians and expand services in the future. The McFarland South Ames Office will be the fifth location for McFarland primary care services in the Ames community. More than 40 primary care providers serve patients in the 1215 Duff, Family Medicine East, North Ames and West Ames offices.
Optometry, Physical Therapy and Ancillary Services
Optometry and optical services will also be featured as part of the McFarland South Ames Office. Physical therapists will provide care to relieve aches and pains and rehabilitation for injuries and surgeries. Laboratory and imaging services will also be available at the South Ames Office.
LilyPad Childcare Center
The new South Ames facility will also include a childcare center operated by LilyPad Learning Center of Huxley and Madrid. The new childcare center is slated to open on July 2, 2018. People interested in learning more about the childcare center and availability may contact LilyPad at 515-597-3100.
ISU Research Park
