McFarland Clinic has announced plans to purchase land and construct a facility at the Iowa State University Research Park. The Clinic is in the final stages of a purchase agreement with the ISU Research Park with plans to break ground by June of 2017. The proposed facility would open in Summer 2018.
“The growth of businesses in ISU Research Park and residential housing presents a need for access to health care as well as child care services,” said Andrew Perry, McFarland Clinic Chief Executive Officer. “Our desire is for McFarland Clinic to be easily accessible for research park employees and area residents in this rapidly growing part of our community.”
The proposed 33,000 square footage facility will house the McFarland Clinic South Ames Office (23,700 square feet) and include clinical space for up to 13 health care professionals in family medicine, physical therapy, sports medicine and optometry. In addition McFarland Clinic is pleased to announce that LilyPad Learning Center of Huxley and Madrid will lease space in the facility (9,300 square feet) and begin offering new childcare programs in Ames.
“McFarland Clinic is the ideal partner for us to fill the need for accessible health care for our growing research park community,” said Steve Carter, President ISU Research Park. “While we are focused on bringing amenities to our tenants, we are also cognizant of the need this fills for quality care for Ames families. They’ve proven to be excellent partners by accommodating LilyPad Childcare in their space; both will be a strong addition to the ‘hub square’ area we are working to establish in the newest phase of our development.”
The McFarland South Ames Office will be the fifth location for McFarland primary care services in the Ames community. Currently 42 primary care providers serve patients in the 1215 Duff, Family Medicine East, West Ames and North Ames Offices.
“With the growing aspect of businesses along with a fitness center and restaurant in the ISU Research Park, we are pleased to announce our role in bringing additional services and amenities to this area,” said McFarland's Andrew Perry.
LilyPad Learning Center will open its first Ames-based site in the proposed facility. The facility will offer a convenient drive-up, drop off access to the Center for parents.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our business to serve the Research Park and greater Ames community with an established partner like McFarland Clinic,” said Sara Hillebrand, Executive Director/Owner of LilyPad Learning Center. “Already they have proven to be understanding of our unique needs and have gone above and beyond as we’ve designed our portion of the space to meet the needs of the little people we serve. Their willingness to partner with us has allowed us to stay focused on what we do best, and that is serve children and their families.”
