Providers and staff raised $635.00 during “McFarland Madness-Dollars for Denim” campaign this March. Proceeds were given to the Animal Rescue League in Marshalltown, which provides care, shelter and home placement for stray or unwanted animals.
“McFarland Madness” was the inaugural quarterly campaign to raise funds for a local organization. Dollars for Denim is a way the McFarland Marshalltown team can receive a perk of wearing jeans on Friday, while giving them the opportunity to make a contribution to the community at a level that is manageable for each individual.
“Last fall, for Day of Caring, a group of our staff went to the Animal Rescue League and helped clean and do maintenance,” says Executive Director Jodi Faustlin. “We had a great time with the staff of the ARL and the animals, so when the managers voted on an organization for our first event, it was easy to recall the needs of the ARL and the service they provide to our surrounding communities. Our pets mean so much to us; they deserve good care, too.”
“We appreciate McFarland Clinic thinking of us for their fundraising campaign. We are so thankful for any donations that we receive and it is always a huge help when we get any donations,” says ARL Director Heidi Drager.
