McFarland Clinic kicked off its annual United Way campaign with a slogan to live by, "Make a Brighter Day." Staff members are encouraged to donate their time, money and resources to those in need to make a difference in someone’s life.
Supervisors were given United Way packets for each employee. If you have yet to receive your packet, please contact your supervisor. Staff are encouraged to complete the drawing entry/pledge card insert in brochure. The pledge form includes an option for payroll deduction as well as a donor choice to designate your gift to a specific United Way or human service agency. Checks will also be accepted made payable to United Way.
As part of the annual United Way campaign, McFarland Clinic for the sixth consecutive year participated in Day of Caring events throughout the network to help kick off our campaign.
McFarland Clinic employees had the pleasure to volunteer and represent the clinic by providing hands on assistance for agencies through the network. Thirty McFarland volunteers from Story County and fifteen McFarland volunteers from Marshall County participated in Day of Caring activities on Friday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 22, all in efforts to brighten someone’s day.
McFarland Clinic employees were able to participate and volunteer their time throughout the day. Employees divided into six teams and were able to help at the following United Way agencies:
- United Way of Story County in Ames
- Krysilis in Nevada
- Habitat for Humanity in Ames
- Hospice House in Marshalltown
- Senior Citizens Center in Marshalltown
Other network locations have already designated their volunteer hours to help in their communities. Some of these projects include:
- Boone Eye: Volunteering at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone
- Iowa Falls & Eldora: Volunteering at the Thrift Shop in Iowa Falls
- Jefferson: Delivering Meals on Wheels
The Day of Caring event allows McFarland Clinic employees a chance to volunteer their time in the community and experience first-hand the benefits of United Way agencies.
