This Prime Time Alive program, sponsored by Mary Greeley Medical Center is presented by Rami Almokayyad, MD of McFarland Clinic Endocrinology/Metabolism.
Scientists have known for some time about vitamin D's role in helping the body absorb calcium, in maintaining bone density, and in preventing osteoporosis. But new research suggests it may also help protect against chronic disease such as cancer, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and autoimmune diseases. It is well known that many adults have low blood levels of vitamin D.
Join Dr. Rami Almokayyad, McFarland Clinic Endocrinologist, as he addresses our concerns and discusses the latest information on Vitamin D research and recommendations.
Location: Mary Greeley Medical Center's South Auditorium, Ames.
