McFarland Marshalltown Urgent Care Clinic Moves to New Location

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Beginning Saturday, July 18, the McFarland Clinic Urgent Care Clinic will be open at a new location at the McFarland Clinic 312 East Main Street building at the East entrance. Hours for the clinic are Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Patients are asked to call (641) 844-5200 to schedule a same-day appointment.

Marshalltown area residents seeking health care services after regular business hours have been using the Urgent Care Clinic since June of 2008. It offers patients increased access to urgent care services during evening and weekend hours.

The service offers care for acute, non-emergent health problems or injuries that require immediate attention and is available by appointment. You do not have to be an established McFarland Clinic patient to be served in the Urgent Care Clinic.

Follow-up care, if necessary, is coordinated with the patient’s primary care provider. The Urgent Care Clinic is not meant to take the place of one’s primary care provider.

Examples of what can be seen:
- Upper respiratory problems (sore throat, earache, sinus symptoms, flu symptoms, cough without shortness of breath)
- Allergy complaints, conjunctivitis, stye
- Minor skin problems and minor buns (rashes, cold sores, impetigo, ringworm, infected sores)
- Insect bites, minor animal or human bites not on the face
- Minor complaints from car accident with no loss of consciousness or need for x-rays
- Urinary tract infection, bladder infections
- Minor gynecological problems
- Minor lacerations, bumps, bruises and scrapes
- Minor sports injuries
- Simple musculoskeletal complaints
- Headache- mild or established migraine diagnosis with no acute or new changes
- Recent onset nausea/vomiting/diarrhea
