Types of Varicose Veins

Three types of varicose veins exist:  large (varicosity), intermediate (reticular), and small (telangiectasia). 
The large varicose veins present as bulging veins.   

Large Varicose Veins

Intermediate veins are more netlike in appearance.

Intermediate Varicose Veins

Small varicose veins are commonly referred to as spider veins. Spider veins are reddish, bluish in appearance.
