Hematology and Oncology
The hematologist is involved in the treatment of diseases of the blood. Such diseases would include abnormalities in the number and function of the various cells in the blood.The mmedical oncologist is concerned with the care and treatment of patients with various types of cancers. He is responsible for determining a plan of treatment and supervising its implementation.
A medical oncologist and hematologist will often serve as coordinator for care provided by other areas of specialization and departments within the Clinic.
