Breast Center
The Breast Center combines mammography (low dose breast x-rays) with instruction in self-examination to promote early detection of breast cancer. This allows treatment of breast disease at its earliest, most curable stage. Self-referred screening examinations are available to women meeting American Cancer Society guidelines.The Breast Center also offers stereotactic breast biopsy, an outpatient procedure that can help diagnose breast cancer without the need for surgery. Less invasive than traditional surgical biopsy, stereotactic breast biopsy uses a vacuum assisted needle guided by computer technology to sample tissue from a suspicious area.
The McFarland Clinic Breast Center is accredited by the FDA and the State of Iowa.
